Very common: Very common to have pain in that area, especially during the computer age.  Always ask for a chest x-ray just to be safe, but muscles and daily living are probably the issue.

i have a hump on my shoulder blade(both left and right side) right below the neck but i don't feel any pain if i touch it. i only experience back pain

See a physician: This type of question really can't be well answered here because you need to be examined to determine exactly where these humps are.  It's possible that the humps are normal anatomic findings (i.e. The superomedial corner of the scapulae) and that the back pain is a coincidental occurrence.

i have had pain in my left shoulder blade  for several weeks - worse when i am carrying something? also some back pain on left side.

Multiple causes: Upper back & left sided chest may be the result of a thoracic disc herniation, thoracic facet syndrome, T4 syndrome, costoveterbral syndrome, muscle strain, ect. It may also represent referred pain from internal organs such as the heart & lungs, which are more serious. With your breathing difficulties you should contact  your  pcp for an immediate evaluation. If not available go to nearest er!

Nephrolithiasis: The kidneys are retroperitoneal and located in the area mentioned.  Have you done a urinalysis lately?

Upper back pain: Pain in that region, if it's not from a recent strain or injury, is often due to nerve impingement from a bulging intervertebral disc or an arthritic spur pressing on a nerve root exiting from a vertebra. If shingles is the cause, a rash appears after several days. If symptoms persist, consult your physician or a neurologist. Appropriate imaging studies,xray or mri, will be ordered.

Trapezius: You are describing the pattern and attachments of the trapezius muscle.  This may be a muscle strain or overuse injury.  If you are working out too much to heavy you may need a break.

i got acid reflux problem.im taking nexium (esomeprazole).but from last 2 weeks i have back pain left side close to shoulder  blade  in rib cage area. why is that?

?unrelated: Stomach intestinal issues should not be referred to the back unless something serious is going on such as perforation, pancreatitis, bleeding. If you have pain in your shoulder it could be referred pain or something completely unrelated. Muscle spasm: Most likely this pain related to a muscle spasm, caused by straining when you were coughing, put some heat on the area, take motrin, if no help, see physical therapist in your area, or pain specialist for couple trigger point injections.

i'm having back pain and it hurts when i breathe deeply. it started yesterday when i laid down on my belly on the couch. i couldn't get comfortable so after i got up it started. the pain is on the left side mid section below the shoulder blade.

Sometimes : Sometimes back pain is so severe that breathing is painful, but this is unusual.  The presence of pain with breathing is concerning for lung pain and i would recommend seeing your primary care doctor right away to rule out lung problem.   Especially if it is associated with shortness of breath and/or chest pain.  If no lung or heart problem is found then the pain could be from pulled back muscle or joint problem and your doctor may start you on anti-inflammatory medicine and physical therapy.  Good luck!
