Several possibilitie: In that region, pain can arise from a hip, spine or si joint problem.  It can also be a referred pain from your abdominal or pelvic region organs as well .  If the pain is getting worse or persisting over time and is bothering you, get evaluated by your doctor to start the appropriate treatment based on a correct diagnosis.

SIJ: 20y female notes unilateral low back pain &amp; movable subcutaneous mass. Absent trauma, these findings suggests sacroiliac joint, SIJ, disorder. Patient has discovered a benign cartilaginous  Schmurls node overlying the discomforted dorsal aspect of her SIJ. Pain generated by a disordered SIJ radiates from low back to the hip. Get checked again. : It appears your pain is in the muscle, &amp; I would agree with the muscle relaxant medication. But the fact that "still nothing works" means you should get checked again: for better pain relief &amp; for the small possibility that something else is the cause. Otherwise, without your feedback, your doctor can only think that the initial therapy worked. Hope that helps.

If it hurts when: You are walking the most likely thing in the absence of fever would be sacroiliitis, inflammation of the sacroiliac joint. If you were running a fever and there is tenderness where the last rib  meets your spine, then i would be concerned about a kidney infection. If you are walking and you feel like the pain is shooting down the back of your leg then i would suspect you  were suffering from sciatica. Most likely however you have pulled a muscle. If it continues then see your family doctor.Best wishes.Oh, and if it gets the point where it feels like you're delivering a baby, then it's a kidney stone.

Right  numbness/pain: May be the beginning of shingles. Alternatively could be  kidney stone,  gallbladder. Would follow up w/ doctor urgent  care today as treatment for shingles w/ prednisone acyclovir could shorten the time of illness and decrease the  pain and post -herpetic neuralgia. Gall bladder /stones need to diagnosed and treated as well f/u/ today

MRI results: What pathology did your MRI reveal? A neurosurgeon should evaluate you and your current MRI in order to best advise you about treatment options. Weakness of your leg would be a very worrisome sign and often means spinal or disc surgery is needed. Avoiding permanent leg and foot weakness is paramount. If you haven't done so, consult a neurosurgeon at this time.

Acute or chronic? : If your symptoms are very acute/new, you could consider a kidney stone to be present, and you could have this evaluated at the ER if the pain is severe. If the symptoms have been present for quite a long time, you could start with an an evaluation with your PCP for a possible low back condition.
