i have a sharp pain left side of neck that's on off. heat helps. posture and stretching seems to bring it on more. is this serious? i'm 18 and scared.

Unlikely: Many neck issues in your age group are brought on by poor posture esp slouching or lack of exercise. Use of. Computers, carrying a heavy backpack can also aggravate your neck and upper back muscles.  Try to look at your posture to make sure you sit and stand fully erect. That's a place to start.

pain left side of neck for 5 days. feels like pulled muscle but getting worse not better. taking anti inflamm & using hot/cold compress. nausea too.

Get Checked out...: Was there any recent injury? Did you perform any activities that worsen the pain? Consider seeing your pcp or ed doc for exam and possibly ct or MRI scans.

Go see your DR for a: Thorough exam and accurate dx. Possibilities include muscle strain, carotid artery narrowing, sinusitis, intestinal problems etc. Based on your age, you may consider a screening colonoscopy, ekg , blood test to check for diabetes, kidney, prostate, liver & cholesterol problems etc. Stay active and maintain ideal weight .God bless u!

Likely muscle throb: Women, pregnant or not, w/ throbbing in side of neck who have had med tests to rule out serious problems are left with a couple of poss. causes: nervous tick (if due to anxiety), nerve irritatio: mechanical-due to pregnancy or just due to spinal or rib dysfunction irritating nerve.In pregnancy, meds are a bad idea, but osteopathic hands-on exam may find cause &amp; gentle manipulation may fix it.

Muscle spasm: Tight contracted muscles can cause pain like that.  Try otc analgesics (ibuprofen, aleve) plus heat and gentle stretching.

fractured my left humerus surgical neck.  am now having pain left side of neck.  normal?  fracture is approximately 2 weeks old.

Could be...: I assume the arm is in a sling or likely shoulder immobilizer.  Was this a surgical repair?  Could be related nerves/reflex distribution of pain fibers from the shoulder/arm.  I'd follow up with the doctor that treated the fracture or your primary care physician.

i'm just curious i had covid back in march. within weeks i noticed mild dysphagia(feels like a piece of bread stuck one side) and a nodule on left side of neck/throat within last 4 days. even with a fam history of thyroidism. could covid be the cause?

: Covid could be the cause of an enlarged lymph node, if that is what is causing your symptoms. If this continues, you should see your doctor to have this evaluated. You may need to see GI for the swallowing difficulty. If the lymph node is enlarged from Covid, this should gradually decrease in size. Good luck!
