It depends...: Most people refer to the "stomach" and mean abdomen. Ct can show a broad array of normal and abnormal anatomy in the abdomen and pelvis. However, if you really meant "stomach" either an upper GI series or endoscopy is more sensitive for looking at the lining of the stomach where most of the issues arE.R.

Gastroparesis: The size of your stomach on ct scan may or may not be accurate depending on the last time you ate in relation to the time of the scan. In general an over large stomach is gastroparesis, which is a complex disorder. An egd or scope into your stomach will help with diagnosis. Okay to check in with your doc.

Resolving GI bug?: The most concerning thing about "feeling heartbeat in stomach" is a prominent pulse of the aorta possibly associated with an aneurysm. This would be VERY unusual in a 25 year old. But I presume this was excluded in the CT scan. So then we are left with some abdominal pain &amp; the blah's. Keep up hydration, eat a slightly bland diet, exercise but don't overdo, and consider ?? mood issues/depression?

Hollow organ: Because the stomach is a hollow organ, if it is not full of food sometimes it will not show up on a CT scan or other imaging test. If a doctor is specifically wanting to look at the stomach on CT scan they can order the CT with oral contrast. Then you drink some contrast material and the stomach will show up.

what is it like to have a ct scan on the stomach and pelvis area?

CT scan: You will arrive to radiology and have an IV placed. This will be used to inject a contrast material into your veins in order to better visualize your intra-abdominal organs.  You will also likely drink a contrast material to allow better visualization of your GI tract. The actual scan is very fast and you will have to hold your breath to prevent motion artifacts. im having severe pain in my stomach but ct scan and bloodwork came back clear. what could my pain be?

Gastritis or ulcer: I suggest a GI consultation and upper endoscopy to visualized the esophagus ( to rule out GERD ) and stomach- to rule out inflammation or ulceration.

ct scan w contrast showed my stomach is collapsed, and there appears to be diffuse gastric thickening and as some stranding adjacent to the distal stomach, as well surrounding indistictness of the perigastric fat and some fluid, what does this mean?

EGD  needed: I do not know your symptoms but CT findings indicate that you should see a gastroenterologist, take the scan with you so they can make decision regarding best way to diagnose and relieve your symptoms. Talking to Doctors: I am sorry to report but you must be much more descriptive or specific. What do you mean specifically by stomach area? What kind of pains? What other symptoms occur. When do they occur? What else can you be specific about?
