Back pain: It's important to periodically get up and stretch and not stay in one position too long because this will cause the muscles to tighten and will lead to back pain. Try an ice pack or heat and see which works.

Sitting is bad: Our bodies are meant to move. Prolonged sitting  is bad for your back and hips. It also turns down your metabolism and circulation. For anyone that works at a desk - first see about getting a stand up desk or if you do sit make sure you get up and move around every 20 minutes or so.

You can compensate: You have a good point- it is not healthy for anyone to sit all day, either at school, home or work. However, you are not in school "all day, " probably 7 hours at most, which includes breaks during which you can be active. Authorities advise a minimum of one half hour of physical activity most days for good health & you have plenty of time to do that (and much more) after school. So don't drop out!

Exercise status: This depends  on your exercise conditioning, your activity in your  last  job, the fact that  you are more sedentary now and why you lost  the weight 5  years ago. Your physicians can discuss this  with you and help clarify your questions.

WEIGHT GAIN: INACTIVITY WILL RESULT IN WEIGHT GAIN. ALSO EVEN THOUGH YOU DID NOT OVER EAT - ITS MORE WHAT YOU ATE THAT MATTERS. 
YOU CALORIC REQUIREMENT ID REDUCED WITH INACTIVITY.

Not likely: Hemmorroids can be a problem no matter what.  Make sure you are using fiber to decrease pressure but if miserable may need procedure.  Good luck.

my knee is stiff from sitting  all day. what can i do to decrease the stiffness?

Stretch more: Get up and walk around or stretch a bit at least every 2 hours.  The longer you sit still, the stiffer you will feel when you finally do try to get up. If you are having swelling or intense pain along with the stiffness, those would be reasons to get examined by your dr.

can i get pressure sores from a desk job? is it possible to develop pressure sores from sitting all day at a desk and barely getting up?

Not likely: While anything is possible, pressure sores usually occur in people who either have impaired sensation in the area in question, are unable to move due to paralysis or impaired consciousness, or some combination of both.
If you have normal sensation in your legs and buttocks and are not paralyzed or unconscious you are not likely to develop pressure sores.

Rotation: Must change point of maximum wt on skin by changing patients position every 2-4 hours, easier said than done in this case however, he is lucky you care.

noticed that my muscles & tendons get stiff very quickly, possibly because of sitting all day in office bcs never suffered from this before. it has started bothering me on daily basis, i do daily stretching, are there any exercise programs to follow?

: the best thing you can do is get up from your chair every one to two hours and walk around the room, bend down and stretch. have a cup or glass of water and go back to work.
