Depends on: What type of infection. Is it fungal? Is it bacterial? Bacterial usually starts with a portal od entry like a cut or similar then bacteria gets in. Either case see someone before it gets serious.

Not necessarily: The spot may represent many things besides ‘dead’,tissue. Especially since the tie itself is not  involved, it seems unlikely that this would lead,to a,loss of a toe.
Today there are many treatments to measure and increase circulation to feet/toes. Good luck

Yes: There are all sorts of nerve entrapment syndromes. An NCV exam is sometimes helpful in sorting out where the problem lies if the physical exam does not give you an answer.

Corns: This is a "soft" corn over a boney bump on the side of the toe joint, It can be help  if you maintain a soft spacer there.  Make sure your shoes are wide enough and that you have an arch fit and not simply measured by the length of you foot. This is a common problem and mildly uncomfortable. Surgery can pare down the boney bump.

Antiinflammatory med: If recommend getting it checked out with imaging, but get antiinflammatory medication (if you don't have any contraindications) to help with swelling.  Hope it all turns out better.

X-ray: You may have fractured a bone so you need to see a doctor soon. In mean time, apply ice and elevate the foot. Try to keep weight only to the heel of the injured foot.

my 5th toe (pinky) is broken. i was told it will heal crooked (leaning away from the adjacent toe.) is there anything that can help it heal straight?

Splint Toe: You may try splinting the toe to the next toe with tape. I also suggest you have an x-ray to see if the fracture has displaced.

See below: Splint the 4th & 5th toe together to stabilize it and elevate the foot and take 2 aleve (naproxen) for the pain.
