It's ok: What you are likely feeling is where the inside of your cheek meet the teeth.  This can make bumps or ridges there.

TMJ: This activity probably caused strain of the temporomandibular joint causing your pain. If symptoms don't resolve, consult an oral surgeon for evaluation,advice and treatment. A Mouth guard may be recommended while sleeping as it's important to avoid grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw while sleeping.

R/O CRYPT TRAPPING: Tonsilar crypt trapping can cause chronic tonsillitis  you need to have throat cultured and a full panel of blood work.  Empiric antibiotics Also ENT CONSULT re tonsillectomy . The firm external sensation may be a secondary enlarged lymph node.

Many possibilities: Could be your wisdom tooth, could be an abscess, could be irritation, could be a cavity. Why guess? Have a local dentist examine you and let you know what he/she can do for you to solve your problem.

Canker sores: These may be either canker sores or possibly herpes.  They should go away within a week to 10 days.  If not, have them looked at by a dentist or your local doctor.

Metallic taste: Sometimes when you have  post nasal drip or sinus drainge, tooth infection,reflux   you can get a metallic  taste , rarely medical conditions, DM, thyroid kidney, dry mouth syndromes, Zinc ,B12 def ,chromates, medications, food allergies or pregnancy.  Try Zyrtec ( antihistamine), and prevecid  an antireflux med and see if helps . Check glucose. TSH May need antibiotics if sinusitis. f/u w/ doc

i have a 1-2mm skin tag at the back/right side of mouth. been there for at least 2 months with no growth. any cause for concern?

No: Examine it about once a month and if it becomes larger, changes color or bleeds, see your doctor. You may want to take a picture of the lesion so that it would be easy to see if there have been any changes.

Go to ED: May may be having some complication of TMJ for which you should be evaluated urgently at the emergency room. Pl see attached for some details but don't delay your evaluation. Hope you feel better!

Could be Infection: Many oral conditions affecting the soft tissues come and go. Some are harmless, but others can be quite serious. Many of the most common soft tissue changes are completely painless, even though they can be serious, such as cysts, tumors, abscesses, and infections. Any lesion which does not completely heal within two weeks should be regarded as potential dangerous. Get it checked by a dentist now!
