Several reason : Some discomfort is normal. If i did surgery on your hands you would feel the effects of this surgery for several weeks. In dentistry we do surgery on teeth with burs not scalpels. If the discomfort is increasing in intensity or duration the nerve inside  your tooth may not be able to repair itself after the surgery. In particular sensitivity to hot should be discussed with ur dentist  quickly.

If you have constant pain, pain to hot, cold or chewing pressure an abscess is likely the cause. Also you need to be flossing under the bridge 3x/day.
