When i was a resident (yes, a long, long time ago in a galaxy fa, farr away...) the treatments did not address negative symptoms and were fraught with horrible side effects. I pitied people with schizoprhenia then. Now medications are more tolerable (from side effect stance) & can significantly improve + & - symptoms. Treatments have markedly improved!

None: Narcotics are used for pain.  Schizophrenia does not involve physical pain. So, if just schizophrenia, narcotics should not be used.  Of course, a schizophrenic can have other conditions that cause pain, including trauma.  For that, it depends on the type of pain but again, narcotics are not used in the treatment of schizophrenia.
