Usually not: Usually biopsies are not performed on the ovary. Rather if there is a cyst or mass that is suspicious, it will usually be removed entirely, either with or without the rest of the ovary. However not all cysts need to be removed. Sometimes a cyst can be a normal finding.

No: In my 35 years of practice, I have never seen a case of reactive hypoglycemia.  The disorder doesn't exist, if you're overweight the symptoms are a natural response to your glucose level returning to normal. A glucose tolerance test (if you've had one) is not and never will be a valid diagnostic test for hypoglycemia. Don't waste your money o GTT or any fad diets of treatments. Lose wt if heavy.

Yes: Yes, for the sake of the cone biopsy only. Benign ovarian cysts "come and go" frequently without fertility impacts as long as substantial ovum(egg) production is not altered. The cone biopsy has two issues- 1.) post procedure cervical scarring/stenosis which can prevent conception. 2.) The recurrence of the medical issue that produced the need for the biopsy such as CIN III or cervical cancer.

just had laproscopic removal of 5cm complex ovarian cyst, l. biopsy of both ovaries (unplanned) as r looked 'unusual'. what could causes for this be?

You nee to find out: from your doctor , exact tissue diagnosis ( pathology ) Is it a benign cyst , or malignant cyst and the type .  There nothing like  ' R looked unusual '  It is not pathological  diagnosis . You have to wait for the final report , some times takes few days to complete special stains and interpret . Good Luck

It is a routine: Yes whenever the surgeons do any surgery and remove any tissue or explore any pathology they take a tissue and send it to the lab for histological eaxam and that's true for cysts as well.

There : There are many things to consider here. One is your age, also do you have children? What was your doctor's recommendation? Have you seen a gyn/oncologist? : Endometrial thickness of one centimeter or greater requires a biopsy to detect possible abnormal cells.  Most at age "58" are not cancerous, but preliminary changes which could lead to malignancy should be treated accordingly. Consult with a GYN physician for guidance.
