: This is another way of saying normal. The radiologists get fussed at if their reading comes back as the single word 'normal'.

Inflammation: Chronic ossification is most likely due to some irritation to your lungs that caused some minor scarring. Dies not sound like an active problem needing more testing now. Make sure you repeat the test in 6 months to make sure this change is not an active process, eat healthy !

Yes: Likely not a major issue but if you have an uncontrolled lung problem, see a pulmonologist for X-rays and likely pulmonary function tests

No: It is not normal to do so.  There are several potential causes from asthma to alleric bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, so save one and bring it in to your doctor.

: Your radiologist has examined your images and has determined that everything appears normal with no active disease. You can discuss this further with your physician who ordered the study.

spirometric test shows 67% of function  ability (3, 5 liters of 5, 2 recommended), but ct shows normal lung structure. how is this possible?

Lung function: The test checks for lung function, the ct only sees anatomical abnormalities not functional abnormalities. I see you have cat allergy, you could also have asthma and this may explain your findings.

when i breath in my right rib/lung mid center produces a sharp stabbing pain and it gets worse the deeper i breath. the pain is no up in my right side of my neck and when i massage it if i press deep enough i can feel a ball like structure?

: You need to be seen by a doctor to examine you and help figure out the source of your pain. This could be a musculoskeletal problem but it could also be referred pain from the lining around the lung (pleura) or the lung itself. You may need testing like X-ray or CT scan to figure it out. If you smoke, you really need to quit and your doctor can help with this. So, see your doctor soon. Good luck.

: With abdominal CT studies, ovaries and descending colon are shown, but to be certain about ovarian possible abnormalities, an ultrasound of the lower abdomen (transvaginal U/S)  with contrast may be more accurate.

: Osseous is an adjective of bone so that CXR shows significant abnormal bone(s) but it does not specify ribs, breast bone (sternum) or spines.

my radiologist commented on my chest x-ray dense irregular structure 3.5 cm left apex, likely osseus in nature, less likely pulmonary nodule. it sounds like hes saying its likely part of my skeletal structure? but maybe not. very worried?

Accepted Answer

: The term osseous refers to the density which can arise from a calcium deposit into the material. I would assume nothing but discuss the findings with the doctor who knows your case. Only then can you have a better understanding of the findings.
