i have had tailbone pain for almost 4 months. had an x-ray and it showed nothing wrong. i fell almost five years ago on my backwards and suffered then for a couple of months. now it hurts mainly when i sit and then get up from that position?

: The tailbone can minimally displace after a fall. There is a manual technique to align it back. You can see a osteopathic doctor or a chiropractor who is familiar with the technique.

?: Depends on why the x-ray is being done.  If the doctor is doing an x-ray to see if there is a fracture, several different positions are necessary.

10-12: The pre eruption development would vary greatly as does the eruption of teeth. You would need a panoramic xray to see these developing "tooth buds".

hip x-ray shows "spherical density of the medial aspect of the femoral heads and osteophytosis of the right acetabular roof." what does it mean? hip pain 2wks, worse when bearing weight and when immobile for extended time regardless of position?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. The information you provided suggests osteoarthritis. 2 yrs ago i had right hand stt excision with plantaris tendon interposition. now got pain again, had x-ray & there is some alteration in the position of her scaphoid in relation to the remnants of the trapezium.what does this mean & how to fix it?

does a dental panoramic x-ray show the positioning of the mandibular nerve in the lower jaw for implant planning?

It helps: A panoramic film as well as periapical films are 2D images of a three dimensional object. They can show the distance the nerve is from the crest of bone, and show mesio-distal length of bone, but they cannot show the bucco-lingual thickness of the bone or the position of the nerve in that plane. For that you would need Cone Beam 3D imaging.

excruciating lower back pain (left side) for months, always hurting. when i get up from sitting position, cannot walk right away. took x-ray. what does non acute findings, early arthritic changes to the lumbar spine and mild curvature, scoliosis mean?

: It means you have early signs of west &amp; tear in the spine, in addition to mild curvature that is consistent with scoliosis. These are not new findings (nonacute) and have likely been there a while. These findings are not uncommon in folks who have no pain, so they may have nothing to do with your pain. Please follow up with a clinician to discuss further evaluation &amp; management of your pain.

in x-rays taken 1/23 of my back bc of reoccurring back pain it looked like my spine was curved. lady said it may have been my position but i was flat?

Curvature: Consider positional, spasm, or mild scoliosis/kyphosis.

if i look up, my neck will become stuck, & i have to slowly move it to its normal position. spine dr doesn't know why. mri & x-rays came back clean. ?

Neck spasm: It is more likely muscle spasms.  Have you tried any physical therapy for this yet.  If not discuss an exercise program with your doctor.

do dental panoramic x-rays give a lot of radiation?  i had 3 done for tmj issues with my jaw in different positions.  thx

Depends: If they were digital and high speed film was used, your exposure would be minimal but are necessary for a correct diagnosis
