Fluid: Sounds like you may have fluid in the ear canal or eustacian tube (connects inner ear to nasopharynx). Try a decongestant (oral or spray) to open the canal and allow the fluid to drain. If the opening/closing feeling is accompanied by pain, you may want to have a dr check you for an ear infection.

See a doctor: see a doctor if these symptoms persisted. either way try to see your  PCP for a full evaluation to check on your BP and to have a full neurologic examination.

i have been getting pain in the left hand side of neck when swallowing and in my left ear half of the time. is it normal or is it an infection?

Ear pain: Suspicious for Eustachian tube dysfunction and this would be associated with infection or congestion, possibly allergies. Trying a decongestant may help. If symptoms persist or you have a fever get checked.

Quantity vs Quality: While you're describing an adequate quantity of sleep, you may be suffering from poor quality sleep, for instance, sleep apnea, which can lead to inappropriate sleeping during the day. Numbness is more worrisome and needs to be evaluated by your Family Doc. If it happens again (especially w/loss of strength), call 911 &amp; get thee to an ER to evaluate for possible stroke (remember FAST).

Consider cervical disc disease: You certainly could have a cervical disc disease. In addition you may be hyperventilating. The cervical disc issue can give you the head pain as well as the arm pain. If you have any past history of neck injury it would be beneficial to get checked out by your family doctor first

i sleep with my left hand tucked under my head. my hand goes numb during the night. if i keep it at my side it does not. it also goes numb when i am holding a phone to my ear.  also, i have three trigger fingers when i wake in the morning. that stops late

Don't Panic!: Usually numbness induced by certai postures is caused by some sort of "compression" on the nerve supplying that area, in your case probably is in the neck area. Change your posture in sleeping, do gentle neck stretching exercises daily. If no improvement in few weeks you must see a doctor.

Get medical checkup: Your symptoms of numbness may be related to pressure on the Arm nerves from an awkward lying position. They are expected to resolve by themselves..., so do nothing for one week.
If the symptoms persist, then you should get a medical check up from your PCP.

i have left ear unilateral tinnitus. the other symptoms i've noticed is that when i open and close my jaw i hear clicks and crackles. when i jump my left ear pops - if i press my hand under my jaw the popping stops. what could be the tinnitus cause?
