Number of things: Most common probably carpal tunnel syndrome. However, entrapment of a nerve any where from the neck to the brachial plexus to the elbow to the wrist or anywhere in between can cause these feelings and symptoms. Recommend physical exam to distinguish cause, may need emg.

why would a small amount of caffeine create nerve issues? (burning, tingling sharp pains) through out body..legs arms, ear, face ect?  also numbness in neck? i've noticed a few times after having a cup of green tea or some type of caffeine.

It's a stimulant: All forms of caffeine &amp; nicotine are xanthenes , a chemical family that crosses into the brain &amp; acts as a stimulant. How it effect an individual is both dose &amp; genetically determined. Some have few side effects, some quite a few. If you knoe this happens &amp; it bothers you just do decaf.

Tingling: This would most likely be a nonspecific irritability of superficial scalp nerves. Since it's so localized, It's possibly a reaction to hair products or hair brushing or combing. Nevertheless have someone inspect your scalp to check for any sign of scalp inflammation. See your physician as needed.

Nerve Compression: Hands going numb is a common complaint. It is often caused by positioning of  the arms, hand, or elbow that puts pressure on a nerve. The pressure can also come from the neck. Median nerve compression at the wrist, or carpal tunnel syndrome, is the most common. Night splints, vitamin b6, and local steroid injection can help. See your physician for and exam and proper diagnosis.

Carpal tunnel: This sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome: compression of the median nerve where it passes from the forearm into the wrist.The compartment where the nerve travels is often congenitally small; then perhaps overuse/repetitive use or injury aggravates. Wearing a supportive wrist splint can help and/or oral ibuprofen/naproxen or even diuretics to reduce swelling. See PCP or Hand specialist. Stay well!
