i just had a 20 minute nose bleed, both nostrils, an i keep coughing, it's finished but when i lie down i feel like chokin, what do i do?

Rinse throat: You may have some blood clots in the back of your nose. Try to rinse it out with water or saline.

Another possibility is that you are still bleeding but that it is going back rather than forward in its egress out.

Need to see an ENT: You most likely have an area in the front of your nose that is inflamed and irritated. There are large superficial blood vessels in the front of the nose that are easily injured by blowing and cleaning. Seeing an ENT doctor is important as he/she can look in your nose and see if there is a vessel that can be easily cauterized. For now avoid putting anything in your nose including saline.

what can be the cause of repeated nose bleed when blowing nose in one nostril for few months?

It could be: the sinuses,repetitive trauma from blowing nose too hard, or a growth...I suggest you see ENT Dr. about this.

i painted my room its not well ventilated because im on ground floor flat and i got a sudden nose bleed from the left nostril, is it the fumes?

Could be: due to irritation from the fumes with possible picking or blowing the nose causing rupture of tiny vessels in the nostrils. Ice and pressure may stop the bleeding. If bleeding continues emergency room evaluation will be helpful

hi, i'm concerned about bleeding, for the past week, possibly longer i keep having blood in my nostrils. not a nose bleed, but theres blood  up there.

Blood in nostrils: Do you have a cold or allergies? They cause swelling of the nasal tissue and breakdown which can lead to bleeding . Would place some vasoline inside the tip of the nose at night and in AM to mositurize, nose. Check platelets , and clotting  ( PTt/PTT/INR), avoid use of ASA, NSAIDS as that may increase  bleeding  as can cocaine, fish oil ginger ginko, Vit E. F/U with doc/urgent care

i am having chronic nosebleeds at least once every 3-5 days. its only on my left nostril only. i can tell when im about to have one because i can smell blood a few hours before. i cant blow my nose without it bleeding. i dont pick my nose ether?

: Right, that is a problem and I you suggest that you see and ENT specialist so that they can evaluate whether or nor you need aggresive treatment.

Nose bleeds: Nose bleeds can occur with sinusitis but usually there are other symptoms of mucus drainage, associated nasal congestion or sinus discomfort. Commonly excessive nasal membrane dryness or excessive nasal membrane congestion/inflammation(colds,allergies) are causes of unilateral nose bleeds.To prevent membrane dryness apply a tinge of white Vaseline to the nasal passages nightly. Don't smoke!

Nose bleed : Put a lot of ointment in the nose that bled. Usually nose bleeds will stop when you humidify the nose. Irrigate the nose with saline 50 cc each nostril 5 times a day. Use ocean nasal spray throughout the day.   I would not worry about the dizziness. This probably occurred because you were scared about the nose bleed and hyperventilated. Good luck. Feel better!

will sailine rinses help get dry painful crusty boogers out of nostrils? the rinse seem to help but make the nose bleed more. do ointments help?

Nasal Irrigations: Nasal saline irrigations are excellent for chronic sinus symptoms. Antibiotic ointment available over the counter is useful for irritation within the nose. Increase the humidity within the home can help with dryness, if not possible, inhale steam. Absolutely avoid placing anything into the nose other than ointment just at the base. Do not shove tissue into the nose.

i had a common cold for three days, after that i started having stomachaches and go to the toilet frequently. today i had a nose bleed from one nostril. what could be wrong?
