will sailine rinses help get dry painful crusty boogers out of nostrils? the rinse seem to help but make the nose bleed more. do ointments help?

Nasal Irrigations: Nasal saline irrigations are excellent for chronic sinus symptoms. Antibiotic ointment available over the counter is useful for irritation within the nose. Increase the humidity within the home can help with dryness, if not possible, inhale steam. Absolutely avoid placing anything into the nose other than ointment just at the base. Do not shove tissue into the nose.
