Metabolic and neuroendocrine responses to acute stress  represent transient adaptive physiologic responses that are aimed at promoting survival in the face of a perceived challenge. In short. When we are stressed, to conserve energy nonessential bodily functions are placed in a form of hibernation.

Black toenail: Blunt trauma to toenail often results in a hematoma (bruise) with bleeding under the skin beneath nail which will often dissipate in time. Some docs suggest drainage, others suggest letting time run its course. Growing out "black" from the mail bed may suggest damage to the nail matrix. This may resolve on its own, but suggest you see a podiatrist or dermatologist if you are concerned.

Memory loss: The brain is one of our most resilient organs. Yes, you could experience improvement. My advice is that you have periodic check us with a neurologist.

is it normal to be able to feel scratches and not light touch on back of hand? i can feel when i scratch myself, but light touch is barely noticable. this happened after trauma?

: Loss of ability to sense light touch is a sign of neuropathy which, in your case, may be due to nerves damaged from previous trauma to the hand. A neurologist can evaluate and advise you about your loss of light touch sensitivity.

is it normal to still get occasional spasms from skull trauma 3 months after an assault? i feel pressure around skull as well. or should i be concerned? skull seems to have deformed and gotten tighter.can it improve over time?can any medication help?

Skull Traums: It’s difficult to answer this question because I don’t know what you mean by spasm or what kind of school trauma you had. If you did not have a skull fracture or lose consciousness it is unlikely that this was a serious injury and most likely your symptoms will resolve. There is no medication for this.

22 yrs post menopause and am spotting. bright red blood.no trauma to area.is this normal?

See your doctor : If you are having post menopausal bleeding it is important you see your PCP or Ginecologist to perform a pelvic exam, you may need an ultrasound, and other tests. The bleed may be from hormone imbalance to even a cancer hence why you need to have a full medical evaluation. Hope this helps!

Psoriasis can cause: Psoriasis can cause a swollen finger. Look for scaleless skin patch on some parts of your body even in your hair. Or see a dermatologist or Rheumatologist

foot is puffy near the malleolus, no pain except if i push the area near the tendon which is quite brim but has a normal color. no trauma.

Tendinitis perhaps: always hard to tell without actually examining it, but a overuse type of tendinitis can occur due to repetitive motion or sudden increase in intensity of a motion in a body part not used to it. General trwatment is ice 15-20 min 3 times a day and NSAIDs. Decrease your amount or intensity of activity, and if not improving after a few days to a week, see your doctor.

i am experiencing  head trauma, i hit the side of my head 24 hrs ago and have a lump and pain while chewing and yawning, is this normal, should i seek medical attention?

Contact MD and DDS: See your primary care MD to rule out concussion or other variables. Possible TMJ involvement due to trauma in addition, a dentist can diagnose that.
