Hello, id a blunt trauma to my toenail bed 3mths back. no pain, bt it appears to b growing out black frm the bed? is it normal? whnll it heal? thnku

Black toenail: Blunt trauma to toenail often results in a hematoma (bruise) with bleeding under the skin beneath nail which will often dissipate in time. Some docs suggest drainage, others suggest letting time run its course. Growing out "black" from the mail bed may suggest damage to the nail matrix. This may resolve on its own, but suggest you see a podiatrist or dermatologist if you are concerned.
