DHT: is TESTOSTERONE and there are NO SCIENTIFICALLY based medical studies which show TOPICAL Testosterone as an effective means of treating thinning hair in mail pattern balndess (in fact testosterone used to be thought of as the CAUSE for MPB!!!!!
ROGAINE is what you should be researching

Check hormones: Shampoo is not likely the answer to your hair problem. Have your hormones and iron level checked by an endocrinologist who can look for a treatable cause of your problem.

Unrelated: Nioxin is neither causing your hair loss, nor will it prevent hair loss.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

SLES is safe: Generally speaking, the use of sle or sles in shampoos is safe for your hair in the amounts contained in shampoos.  There is no evidence that these chemicals which act as both detergents and surfactants harm your hair or your scalp.

: Sounds like you have seborrheic dermatitis along with possibly an early onset male pattern hair loss. Certain salicylic acid shampoos along with a 2% ketoconazole shampoo  should help. There is a topical minoxidil { Rogaine} for the hair loss and an oral prescription, Propecia, that might be beneficial. See your dermatologist for additional confirmation/advice.

Keep trying!: There really is not a specific shampoo to recommend but look for these ingredients which seem to be healthier for hair: glycerin, protective barrier to hair follicles; nut &amp; seed oils (jojoba, shea); acidic ingredients (sodium citrate/citric acid) helps keep right pH; panthenol, a form of vitamin B helps retain moisture. Avoid these: sulfates, isopropyl alcohol, formaldehyde, propylene glycol.

Shampoo: shampoo should be as natural as you could get as  they do harm hairs. See more at  www.eayurveda.org or many other herbalist ayurveda websites. Use hair oil once a week if possible and leave for 4 hrs before washing hair.

Possible thyroid : You need to have your thyroid gland checked to make sure that it is not under active. Also a screening test for autoimmune disorders might be of benefit.

Alopecia?: There is a condition called alopecia which causes the hair to fall out.  This is different from male pattern baldness which is genetic and not a disorder.  It can be in patches or the entire body. A dermatologist can tell you if you have alopecia (an autoimmune disorder) and treat it.  Peace and good health.
