Exercises: I would expect that you would hurt less over time by continued to walk or exercise as long as you are not doing it to excess.

No exercise.: Cipro (ciprofloxacin) interferes with human DNA gyrase in maintaining tendon integrity and potentially rupture a tendon.As a matter of interest this occurs more in animals,like dogs.I would wait 3 weeks after completion of antibiotic therapy to help any weakened tendons to strengthen.Then you can be unleashed!(to exercise). believe the neuropathy comes from a different mechanism.

how do i tailor this program to my chronic illness (multifocal motor neuropathy). some weeks i will be able to do more exercise (swimming) but every 4th week is ivig treatment so i can't exercise that week.

Are you sure?: I am not aware of any precaution on exercise after IVIG and I have prescribed this treatment often enough.  Do check with your doctor to confirm the need for this precaution.

Maybe. Yes.: But first, you need to address cause of peripheral neuropathy & get that fixed. If it's a simple B12 deficiency or poorly controlled diabetes, then corticosteroids & Anabolic steroids won't help. If it's due to nerve compression, then corticosteroids may help relieve neuropathy. Exercise is always important. Anabolic steroids will only help if ur levels are low. Excess is no good. Think goldilocks.

Medication: There are medications and supplements that help with the pain and burning. Suggest you talk to your doctor about what is right for you.

SCS possibility: If it is pain with numbness you might be a candidate for a spinal cord stimulation system (scs).

Exercise, yes!: As we've noted in a previous answer (https://www.Healthtap.Com/#user_questions/979260), exercise is always a good thing. If poorly controlled diabetes is cause of neuropathy, need to control diabetes first. Which steroids do you mean? Corticosteroids will only worsen diabetes. Anabolic steroids will only work if your levels are low. You need to work w/your doc for your specific case.

i have neuropathy. i use a walker & wheelchair for assistance.with my limited mobility,i've gained over 70lbs but i do exercise & i'm in physical therapy. my question is,can you take gabapentin & phentermine together? any info is appreciated, thanks?

: You are eating more than you are burning. Carrying around 70 lbs is like having a backpack containing 280 sticks of butter. Going to wear something out. Get the app Cronometer and track what you are eating and how much you are burning. Easiest way is to find out where calories are coming from &amp; change that. DASH diet will be a big help.  Check drug interactions@ drugs.com. Beware of phenterimie.
