: You are  urged to correct the B12 deficiency, decrease the homocysteine (risk of stroke and heart attacks), and address depression.  Your doctor should  be providing B12 injections, and biologically active folate can be supplemented.  In USA, we have medical foods (MetanX and Cerefolin-NAC).  Ask about equivalents in India.

Yes, however...: This should be safe. However, elevated homocysteine increases your risk of heart disease and stroke. This is genetic so your child may have high homocysteine which should be treated from a young age. You should add trimethylglycine to your program. Many with high homocysteine do better with the l-5-mthf form of folic acid- this can help depression too.Adjust doses until your levels come to normal.

Comments: Am not personally troubled when my patients' B-12 comes back elevated, as it is truly unlikely that there will be any problem in near or distant future, but do have them stop the vitamin and recheck in 3 months.  Although B-6 can be toxic in some patients, this too will drop over time if you stop it.  Your level is not profoundly elevated, currently.

Of course there is: Of course there is a lab test for b6. I order it on most of my new patients. Labcorp and quest both can do the test.
I check the active b6, pyridoxal 5 phosphate.
Aim for level over or around 20.

Why take pills?: Why take pills surrounded by a sheath when you can get the vitamins naturally surrounded by other vitamins, enzymes, co-enzymes, precursors, activators, antioxidants and other synergistic nutrients? Is there any reason: To take all those vitamins and minerals? Unless you have  deficiency as is indicated directly by blood level  , there is no need of taking all those medicines .Some of the could really be dangerous including b6 and iron
