i have a defibrillator implanted over my left breast. it has hurt ever since placed. i hurt severely at times. the ep doc says it os nerves around the device. the otc meds do not work. what can i do?

Get second opinion: consider an evaluation by a different physician.  It is not usual for an implanted device to be a source of continual discomfort.  If an adjustment in the present position is not available, perhaps replacing the device in a totally different location will solve the problem. i am 29 weeks pregnant and have a painful burning sensation under my left breast, next to my left ribs. not sure if its the muscles tearing or nerves? its also sore if i push down on the spot. not sure if this is normal?

Pain under breast: At 29 weeks of pregnancy, it is common to bump into a chair or bureau because of balance loss, and such might bruise your rib, causing soreness on compression.  Usually this is not connected to the pregnancy itself, but later in pregnancy, rib pain can be caused by kicking  or position change by the fetus.  See your OB physician if this continues.

cause the muscle and breast fat becoming sore from the pressure being constant  on the left side and breast.
Try to change side often.

Favoring the former includes variation w/menstrual cycle; favoring the latter is relation to activity and post-menopausal state.  I recommend that you see your gyne or primary care dr. The first thing to do is obtain a complete medical evaluation so you can have a diagnosis of why you have the pain.

It can be commonly caused by Fibrocystic Breast Disease. Limit caffeine in diet. Start VIT E orally and topically. Follow up with your doctor for reevaluation.

Mastitis : Check for redness, swelling or a lump in the area. Also look for nipple discharge. If you have none of these signs, I would see your provider, you may have mastitis an inflammation of breast tissue. It is benign but uncomfortable and may require antibiotics. In the meantime you can apply ice for no longer than 15 minutes at a time.
