Mastitis : Check for redness, swelling or a lump in the area. Also look for nipple discharge. If you have none of these signs, I would see your provider, you may have mastitis an inflammation of breast tissue. It is benign but uncomfortable and may require antibiotics. In the meantime you can apply ice for no longer than 15 minutes at a time.
