i got cut by a broken tree branch. the cut is a bit lengthy but not deep. i wasnt able to wash, but i squeezed debris. i applied 70% alcohol, then expired neosporin then put bandages. will i be okay?

: Probably so, but suggest that you closely monitor the wound for any sig changes, other than usual healing. Also, would still seize the opportunity now to treat by washing wound thoroughly with soap and water and applying a non expired antibiotic on a daily basis until total has occurred.

i cut my finger with a knife 3 weeks it was deep i cleaned put(neosporin) and band aid, it healed after a few day but now its inflamated and it hurts?

Possible infection: Normally, a small cut will heal on its own with good skin care. Since it has been 3 weeks, things should be better by now. If you have other medical problems (ie. Diabetes), it may complicate proper healing. There is a chance your finger may have a small infection needing antibiotics to complete the healing process.

Clean with soap and: water. Apply Neosporin ointment. Please go to your doctor tomorrow and get the Tdap Vaccine. You will be fine. Good management of your wound.

First : First things first, have you had a tetanus shot in the last 10 years? If not, you really need one. Thank goodness you had a superficial cut. You may need to use non-stick bandage to avoid ripping the top off of the cut. Sometimes, if the bandage is adherent, soaking it can help to remove the bandage without pulling off whatever scab has formed.  If the area becomes red, hot, swollen, or has red streaks, purulent drainage or you develop fever, then it has become infected.  Infections on fingers and hands can be really problematic. If there is any sign of infection, you need to get medical care asap.

Yes: If you did not have a booster in the last 10 years. Your GP may have records if you cannot remember when you had the last tetanus shot.

Mucosal injury: The inside of your nose is lined with many small blood vessels that carry infection fighting white blood cells making it very hard to get infected in this area.  You should be fine.

It is possible: Some people develop an allergy to neosporin. It is a triple antibiotic, and something called neomycin which is one of the antibiotics can cause allergies. If the wound worsens after using neosporin, best to switch to polysporin (bacitracin and polymyxin) or bacitracin. If still not responding, there may be an infection that requires stronger treatment, so see physician.

can you tell me how long does it take neosporin to heal a cut?

Neosporin: Neosporin does almost nothing more than plain Vaseline does to heal wounds, namely it moisturizes the wound which helps to heal the skin.
