Not safe: Manipulations of the spine without a diagnosis or proper training is very ill advised and potentially damaging.  Visit your physician or an orthopedic specialist who will make a diagnosis of your problem and then order appropriate treatment which may include a course of physical therapy.

my neck and upper back is always very stiff. and i turn my neck a lot to "crack" my bones to losen the stiffness. will there be any bad effect for such habit?

No : There will be no issues with this and you are just self manipulating your neck causing a temporary reflex relaxation of the muscles.  Keep on crack in'.

Too much: Self manipulation on top of chiro manipulation can cause unwanted laxity in the joints of your spine.  If you have not had a course of formal physical therapy, i would recommend that as your next step.  You need to address the muscular component of your pain as well.  I would recommend pt outside of where you are getting your chiro care.  It is good to get a different approach.  Talk to your pcp.

Possible: Sounds like you may have pinched a nerve when "cracking your neck". It is also possible that a muscle has also been injured or is in spasm and your neck movement may make it worse. Something is out of balance - ? 4 ekgs in 4 months at your age? What does your chiropractor say about pain and spasm and anxiety/depression?

you need to see your doctor for evaluation, and treatment, and stop cracking your neck.

proper evaluation will rule out any serious condition in the spine, and open the door for suggestion from the specialist of how to have a nice healthy spine.

Back pain: First question and often forgotten concern; is your back pain from the spine and only due to mechanical, muscle, joint, nerve or disc issues? At 16 years old this should be answered. Why does your back and neck "crack?" Maybe from excessive attempts to "crack" it yourself which results in the ligament weakening. The answer to your back pain may be best answered by a good physical examination.

I hope not: Because I do that all the time.  I think it's a great stretch.   Seriously, it's fine.  It's just noise. From ligaments and cartilege and such.  You will find the noise increases as you get older!

Needs evaluation: You need evaluation by your doctor or er.You had an injury and we need more information as to how the injury happen, how long ago it happens, the location of your pain etc.You may need a detailed history and physical exam and if indicated imaging like xrays, cat scan/mri exam to find out the extent of your injuries.

Tension: Number one cause for pain radiating into neck from back is stress and tension in neck and upper back muscles. Differential is much more than can be answered here. Reduce caffeine esp energy drinks and develope stress relief exercise for neck and upper back. Drink more water and look into getting a better nights sleep.
