Hangover: Alcohol itself can do this, so can "fusel oils" (contaminants in cheap liquor)  and acetaldehyde (a byproduct of the breakdown of alcohol in the body).

Don't drink: It sounds like you've been a rather chronic drinker. I don't know how much you drink but if you fear going into withdrawal then it would be best to sign in for detox. I don't want to see you get dehydrated from the diarrhea which he described as severe. You should definitely stop the alcohol, but only in safe setting, and regardless of what your blood test showed, you need to see a G.I. Doctor to find out the exact cause of your diarrhea. It may be the alcohol or it actually could be something else. Push fluids nonalcoholic fluids and contact your doctor at the earliest possibility. If you're getting too dehydrated and have someheadaches lightheadedness dizziness and leg cramps, you should have someone drive you to the emergency room for fluid replacement. Best wishes.

That's a message!: If you pour alcohol over a cut on your skin, it burns, right? No surprise that if your stomach is inflamed, then pouring alcohol into it will make it burn too.  Significant consumption may affect digestion in lots of ways. This is a wonderful time to curtail consumption.  Please do yourself the favor & at least cut way back.

Then maybe don't: drink. ALcohol is a solvent and irritates the stomach lining. This is worse on an empty stomach and if right before lying down.

One of several possible factors causing this clinical picture is small intestinal damage leading to malabsorption alcohol inhibits the breakdown of nutrients into usable molecules by decreasing secretion of digestive enzymes from the pancreas (2). Alcohol impairs nutrient absorption by damaging the cell.

: There is no absolute indication of cholecystectomy for asymptomatic gallstones (cholelithiasis) unless your primary doctor and surgeon suspect chronic pancreatitis as the cause of loose stool. Alcohol does not cause gallstones and cholelithiasis by itself does not cause loose stool but there is certain relationship between alcohol, cholelithiasis and chronic pancreatitis.

You may be: Reacting to chemicals in the alcohol. You could be sensitive  to alcohol or it's ingredients such as yeast, grains, sulfites, histamines ; other chemicals.

The cause may be the alcohol, if the person's stomach and intestines really get irritated by alcohol, but it may more likely be the other ingredients in mixed drinks (milk, cream, sugar, ...), or ingredients in the foods.
