: Pleva is Pityriasis Lichenoides Et varioliformis Acuta, a skin disease which often involve young adults and children. Leukocytosis (high white cell count) is present but not high esosinophil count (EOSINOPHILIA). Your child has eosinophil count of 11.9% so it is atypical unless she is allergic with something else. Biopsy of the lesion may be necessary for the correct diagnosis if it has not done.

Usually not: If you have very high igE it is possible that you have some underlying blood cell disease which should be identified and treated. Sometimes these cause skin changes masquerading as PLEVA. Otherwise there is no satisfactory treatment. Discuss with your DR.

i am a 36yr old female with mucha habermann's disease a.k.a. pleva and i  am in a lot of muscle and joint pain. how bad| strong can this pain get?

Pain is subjective: This codition can be controlled with ultraviolet light, steroids, and antibiotics, the pain would be a bad as the severity of the skin outbreak. If you get this into remission your pain will lessen and improve as the skin disease goes into remission

: I wonder what symptoms led to the serology tests done before PLEVA appears. The positive results of both CMV IgM &amp; IgG mean you had a recent CMV infection but there is no reported case of CMV-related PLEVA; however, other viral infection such as herpes, EB  or HIV may have causal relationship with PLEVA.
