GERD is a common ailment and it is a chronic medical disorder. Consequently it requires chronic/long term treatment. Send us details of which medication(Antacids) have your been using over the last few years and also tell us if you take an antacid on a daily or on an intermittent basis. Then we can guide you further and help you to control your acid reflux symptoms.

Usually GERD requires long-term treatment. If you go off of the medicines, it is reasonable to suspect that the symptoms will return. Probiotics and natural medications do not usually keep GERD under good control. You should continue to follow anti-reflex measures and see your gastroenterologist if symptoms persist.
