i have a weird smell internally in my nose thats hard to describe. i have allergies. i saw an allergist and was prescribed nasacort & azelastine which helped it for a while but now its back. what could it be???

Cacosmia: You may be suffering from chronic sinusitis or a related condition. Inflammation and/or infection within the sinuses or nasal cavity can lead to this symptom. This may be associated with your allergies. If you have symptoms of sinus pressure/pain, drainage from the nose (front or back), I would recommend seeing an ENT for evaluation.

is it ok to use prescription nasacort (triamcinolone) (triamcinolone 55 mcg) daily? will i develop problems with my nose? i read it's ok.

Nasal sprays : it is perfectly safe to use Nasacort (triamcinolone) daily.  The common side effects are headaches and bleeding.  Feel better.

i take allegra and nasacort (triamcinolone) daily but am still suffering from recurrent sneezy, runny  nose (clear/sticky) and inflamation. is there any other help?

Afrin (oxymetazoline): Afrin nasal spray.  Used to be by prescription, but now available over the counter.  This should be your first choice.  Also, Vit D3 5,000 IU/day, and an herbal anti-inflammatory like Boswell or Turmeric.

past 3 days wake up with thick dark yellow sometimes blood tinged nasal mucus. nose is not  running. on nasacort (triamcinolone) for 1wk. sinus infection?  virus?

May be normal: Sinusitis is mostly caused by viruses. There is difficulty diagnosing bacterial sinusitis by symptoms alone but  if symptoms are present &gt;10 days, fever &gt;102 with pus for first 3-4 days of symptoms or worsening of symptoms following viral infection - you may have a bacterial infection. Be careful to use nasacort (triamcinolone) appropriately as the irritation may also cause bleeding.

at night one nostril clogs. no other symptoms. have deviated septum. keep home very clean (dusting, heavy vacuum, air purifier). i do have seasonal allergies. tried: nasacort, xyzal, saline, allegra d.possible nose is dried out from meds?other ideas?

Inflammation/exam: Since you have a deviated septum, one nasal passage may be smaller and obstructs more easily in response to inflammation. Nasal saline, cool air mist and trying another steroid spray such as Flonase AQ instead may be used. ENT follow up recommended. There are higher volume delivery systems for nasal saline available. Avoid pollen exposure by keeping windows closed.

: Yes is is a powerful steroid so follow directions.  It will help superficial issues but not true hypertrophy.  But check with an ENT in NC as they will know what works best there in people like you who have what you have exactly.
