should i be concerned that there is a swelling of fluid on my thumb knuckle where i had three stitches from a laceration? the stitches have been removed, and there is no sign of infection.

Swelling: You may have what is called an inclusion cyst. Let the physician who did the repair have a look at it

i have red swollen thumb really sore. it's also inflamed. doc has prescribed amoxicillin but i don't like antibios. any suggestions?

Possible infection: It sounds like you are being treated for an infection of your thumb.  An infection is one of the worst case scenarios for a red swollen thumb - at worst, the infection could potentially get into your bloodstream, which could obviously be a bad situation.  I understand that you don't like antibiotics, but i would definitely take them.  Consider a second opinion if it makes you feel better about it.

cut thumb with razor blade. 2 stitches. very sore & stiff. hard to bend. feels like ima break/ tear somethin. this normal? maybe inflammation?

Need more info.: It may be normal, but your description is not sufficient to give more information. You could always have injured more than just skin or you could potentially have an infection. That said, it could just be normal tissue reaction. An exam by your physician would either make the diagnosis or reassure you that all is well.

Yes: Remember, the area will be swollen and tender for several days after the injury.  Also, be on the look out for possible infection - if the repair becomes "hot & red" as well as painful - seek medical attention.

just got 5 stitches on the top of my hand near the thumb due to a 3/4 in. in laceration about 1/8 deep. can i play light soccer in 2 days?

Thumb sutures: At your own risk! The healing phases are not completed til 3 weeks following injury. If you are a professional soccer player than OK. But if just for recreational activity I would wait at least 2 to 3 weeks...

Infection?: If it hurts but there's no swelling, redness, or pus draining from the incision, then you just need to wait it out.  Elevating the hand will help.  But if you see signs of infection, you should see a doctor.

Yes: To some degree surely a sprain. A vague term. If the pain and limitation of motion persist or deformity occurs, see Orthopedic Surgeon. Should consider X-ray and may need MRI if sever.

Infection: you need to get seen since it sounds like you have an infection and may need antibiotics.  Do not delay much longer since it sounds like the infection is getting worse.
