Voice hoarse: You prababely have viral laryngitis.It is usually self limiting and do not need any antibiotics, rest your voice, and if it persists than see your doctor, as it can be associated with bacterial or fungus infection, it can also be caused by esophgeal reflux, excessive smoking, use of inhaled steroids, allergies and overuse of voice by shouting and loud singing.

PROBABLY VIRAL URI: You probably have a viral upper respiratory infection and all you need is symptomatic treatment like you are doing, but if it does not get better or you develop other symptoms like high fever, cough with greenish yellow expectoration etc, than consult your doctor for check up.

i woke up this morning with a sore throat my voice was hoarse and it hurts to swallow and i have a head ache and body aches. what could it be?

Most likely..: An upper respiratory tract infection which most of the time it is caused by a virus and resolves by 7-10 days. If persistent and severe symptoms and fever could be strep throat which might need antibiotic treatment. Try to rest and drink plenty of fluids but if symptoms persist or severe get seen by a provider in order to get a formal exam and treatment.

iv had a scratchy throat for about 3 weeks, not really a sore throat, tried penv and cefalexin...it didnt work and my voice gets hoarse at night.its getting better but slowly.

Infections : Infections of this type are not more common in pregnancy. It may be that you had been exposed to someone with an infection recently. Check with your OB if you do not improve over the next week or two. Sometimes it takes a while (several weeks)  for hoarseness to improve after a viral infection. I hope you don't smoke since that can slow healing and be bad for the baby.

See a doc: With having shortness of breath,that should encourage you to go seea physician.The sore throat and worsening cough at night may be drainage that would also be a reason for the laryngitis/hoarseness.This cough be bacterial or viral but do not take a chance with Shortness of breath.
