Yes: It is most likely a minor nerve irritation due to the pressure from the bag. Try carrying it in a different location. Apply ice to the area. You could try Tylenol (acetaminophen) as well.

Instability: Either the shoulder joint or the rotator cuff could be involved here.  The slight popping suggest the possibility of shoulder instability.  Proper right shoulder strengthening/rehab is usually successful in treating shoulder instability, although occasionally, surgery is necessary.  See a physician if symptoms persist.

Shoulder pain: Try not to focus on "possibility" rather than "probability". Our brains often make us focus on the former as that is the greatest danger even if there is little chance of that. And in this case there is very little if not close to zero chance that your acute symptoms are a bone cancer. Give it some time and if persists or increases in frequency duration or severity than seek medical evaluation.

i am having shoulder pain (6-7/10) only when moving my arm inward across my chest. i have no issues raising arm, reaching, or moving arm outward. can do pull ups/chin ups/others with no pain. caused during bench press. is this tendonitis or a tear?

Many times a herniated disc in the neck can cause shoulder and arm pain especially if you have not improved with the medications and physical therapy.  If it is a herniated disc you may need evaluation from a spine specialist to determine what other options might be needed (injections, surgery, etc) to help reduce pain.
