Brain arteries: Atherosclerosis most often is by fatty deposits in arteries usually from high cholesterol plus smoking plus other factors such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension. Also from clogging of arteries by thick blood clots or injury to vessels.

hi. what causes my left hand nostril to feel constantly blocked i've also got full pain on left hand side of teeth,ear ,around left eye left side of forehead and left side of head\brain worse when put head down almost like behind left nostril clogged?

Sinus: A deviated septum may contribute to your problems. Sinuses on the left side seems to cause most of the discomfort. Your PCP should be aware of your issues.

: All theoretically possible, especially drainage issues, but rather unlikely statistically if Australian regulatory agencies have appropriately vetted and approved the device.  (Which the FDA does in the USA)

: Yes, it is possible not only because the vertebrobasilar arteries but the distal branches of the external carotid artery anastomose with distal branches of the internal carotid artery provide important sources of collateral circulation to the brain.

It could: It depends on the size of artery in question and resolution of the mri/mra. Should identify major blockages, though won't see tiny vessels, though the MRI portion may suggest lack of flow inn a area indirectly. I'm always amazed at how much information radiologists get out of a study, especially when given good clinical information. A neurosurgeon or neurologist can help depending on your need.

can a regular ct scan of the brain show blocked arteries?

No: In order to visualize blocked arteries, you would need a high-resolution ct scan and you would need to receive intravenous contrast. A ct scan without contrast can show areas of previous strokes however will not directly show blocked arteries. A good radiologist can also occasionally see calcifications of arteries which could suggest disease however does not necessarily mean the arteries are blocked.

CT scan: CF scan is initial scan, if suggestive of blockage, MRI follows.

Cancer unlikely: Tear duct cancer is virtually unheard of. The symptoms are more likely to be due to scarring in the duct.
