SEVERE PAIN: Pain that is truly 10 (no such thing as 10+) requires immediate evaluation. Pain rated at 10 implies worst imaginable (i use the description of chainsaw removal of leg without anesthesia). If your pain is this severe, you are not functioning and need to be seen in er. Something is severely wrong—aneurysm, heart attack, vascular problem, intra-abdominal infection, etc.

Your symptoms sound much more like hamstring tendonitis or a muscle tear. There are a few different tests, from CT to ultrasound to MRI, which can distinguish these and help your doctor create a plan to minimize your pain and speed healing.

Lower disc problems calf and foot. Nonsurgical for most disc problems. Nsaid's, pt, shots.

Strain of calf: Strain means a torn muscle.Mostly commonly it is the calf muscles, the gastrosoleus complex. But an achilles tendon injury can be confused with it.See a doctor to make sure it is not an achilles tendon injury, that needs active treatment.
