Not a DVT.: A DVT, or clot in the deep veins of the leg, cause achiness and leg swelling which is persistent all the time - not just when you're active. Your symptoms sound much more like hamstring tendonitis or a muscle tear. There are a few different tests, from CT to ultrasound to MRI, which can distinguish these and help your doctor create a plan to minimize your pain and speed healing.

Hip pain: I would agree most likely a muscle strain. Also could be partial labrum tear.
