Accepted Answer

You have to be: a "detective" and provide additional information about what you are DOING...what REPETITIVE MOTION YOU DO at home or AT WORK to result in spasm of these muscles. You may want to consult with a HAND SPECIALIST who may order an EMG/NCS test to see how the nerves/muscles in your wrists/hands are working!

? Pain: There is not enough information for me to tell you accurately what may be going on.  I would suggest seeing a DO who specializes in neuromusculoskeltal medicine or a DO or MD family physician, sports med or physiatrist.

Doctor can evaluate: Such symptoms may be due to a problem in the arm itself and/or in the nerves coming out of the spine and going to the arm.  A primary care doctor, or a physical medicine doctor (pm&r), can evaluate. A neurologist and/or an orthopedic doctor may be consulted, if needed.

Shooting Arm Pain: This may be a nerve problem including a problem from the nerve in your neck, shoulder area(brachial plexus), or distally around the elbow and forearm or at the wrist.  The problem is usually easily evaluated and located on a physical examination.

STD and muscles: Most STDs cause a rash or discomfort.  It is very unlikely that you would have muscle twitching and pain in your body from an STD.

Some STDs cause no symptoms.

If you think you are at risk for acquiring an STD, it is a good idea to be tested.  Be sure you have no STDs before you risk infecting someone else.

Only helps hip issue: Hip arthroscopy will only address the actual hip issue directly. Any other secondary gain such as improved gait patterns are possible not not the main goal of treating the snapping hip syndrome.
