Not likely: Ovarian cysts are exceedingly common and usually benign. The size you indicate (about 1 inch) is well within the range for normal ovaries. Your doctor can recheck the ovaries in 4 to 6 weeks. If the cysts are normal they will be changing and over time will go away, but be repaced with more cysts. If the cysts are not normal, they will continue to enlarge and would eventually require treatment.

For some reason however, a hormonal imbalance may be causing your cysts to stay for longer than expected and grow to sizes where they cause pain. The cyst you have now will go away, but you can prevent this by being on hormonal birth control in the future.

All you need is 1egg: Well, it's a bit more complicated than that . . . We define advance maternal age as older than 35yo at time of delivery. So stop drinking alcohol (new CDC recommendation) &amp; start Folic Acid. Then see your Family Doc to make sure you're healthy. You get 12mo to try to conceive after which you need to see Infertility specialist if you haven't consulted one already.

Abdominal pain: Your current abdominal discomfort may or may not be due to pelvic pathology. Other possibilities include adhesions,umbilical hernia, irritable bowel syndrome or intestinal inflammatory disease. In view of your history of ovarian disorders I would start with an evaluation by your gynecologist and a pelvic ultrasound. If these are unrevealing an evaluation by a gastroenterologist or general surgeon
