Several: An oral mucous cyst is a collection of saliva caused by several things. They include cystic formation, extravasation cyst via trauma( biting your lip, etc), and salivary tumor formation. Most will require surgical excicsion and can be done by an oral surgeon, dentist, or ENT surgeon depending on your comfort level with each doctor.

Cyst under nail: If it is painful ask your doc to remove the nail (under local anesthesia,of course). It will grow back, and the relief will be immediate.

Hmm: Not likely, but possible.  If it is significantly on the inside of the lip not likely.  Even if it is closer, it will not likely change appearance.  However, if it is big and there is a lot of dissection, the scar tissue might change the appearance slightly.

See Plastic Surgeon: A qualified plastic surgeon will conceal the incision(-s) so they are minimally visible or not visible. The stitches do not stay for more than a few days, so do not impact the final appearance--same with mild swelling after the procedure. Talk to plastic surgeon.

: If you mean a cyst that's in your mouth (mucocele), it is harmless and should be left alone since it will usually clear up on its own in a few weeks. If it causes pain and has been there for more than a few weeks, see a doctor

Mucous cyst are : Common. They are painless and tend to be annoying than harmful. They can be on the lips, gums, tongue, palate, inside of the cheeks or floor of the mouth( called ranula) they will eventually burst without intervention.Ranular cyst may need surgical intervention if it is affecting feedings

Low risk: A mucous retention cyst is fairly common.  When and if they  rupture, the risk of infection is very low. It will likely come back in time. Best bet is to have it surgically removed.

Like you said: You need a total removal of the cyst. If the surgeon leaves behind even one viable cell there is the possibility that it will regrow!
