Mucous cyst are : Common. They are painless and tend to be annoying than harmful. They can be on the lips, gums, tongue, palate, inside of the cheeks or floor of the mouth( called ranula) they will eventually burst without intervention.Ranular cyst may need surgical intervention if it is affecting feedings

Usually harmless: Mucous can form from lip sucking. They are harmless but may develop into a permanent bump if left untreated.
