See Plastic Surgeon: A qualified plastic surgeon will conceal the incision(-s) so they are minimally visible or not visible. The stitches do not stay for more than a few days, so do not impact the final appearance--same with mild swelling after the procedure. Talk to plastic surgeon.

Size and location: The size and location of the cyst will usually dictate the answer. Most mucous cysts are rather small and incision usually leaves little to no scars. If removed with a diode laser, no sutures are usually needed. If a scalpel is used, very thin sutures may be used. This is a very common procedure and discuss the details with your dentist.

Obviously there: Are some factors that can play a role as to if there will be a perceptible trace of an excision of a mucous retention cyst. Size of lesion, & position of lesion on lip is factor. Is it beyond the "wet-dry" line of the lip - more on the outside vs. Inside. I have removed literally thousands of these & good news is that not one patient had cosmetic compromise. Will not ruin looks. Sutures yes.
