Can i take an ambien (zolpidem) after taking  benzonatate mucinex and levofloxacin? i have pneumonia an can't sleep.

Should be fine. Is your sleeplessness due to cough? Benzonatate is an absolutely useless cough suppressant. If the cough is what is keeping you up at night then a better cough suppressant like Codeine or hydrocodone syrup may be a better option.   Contact the prescribing doctor and let them know the tessalon is not working.

That non-specific label is usually used for a problem that can be handled as an outpatient.It can cover a lot of minor lower respiratory viruses that will self heal. It can also apply to early stages of bacterial pneumonia that could worsen and be deadly.If your symptoms are minor and you can do most of your daily activities, you may be able to wait it out.If not, get in to be evaluated.

Even after antibiotic treatment, many children will have a dry cough that lasts six weeks or more. If concerned, see a pediatrician.

Whats better for bronchitis, robitussin dm, mucinex dm or something else? ive been taking robitussin but its not working too well. is there anything different or better between the two when theyre both dm? (had a chest x-ray &shows no pneumonia?

Unfortunately none of those will treat bronchitis. Most bronchitis is viral and even if bacterial it would not show up on an X-ray. Sometimes it is treated with an antibiotic but mostly needs to resolve with time. However, please contact your doctor if not improving or if worsening.

7 weeks after covid and viral pneumonia have cough that triggers with talking.  had this at the start of last illness. went away for several weeks now back.  blood ox 93 now.  taking mucinex and pearl cough suppressant given in hospital. suggestions?

This cough is likely due to bronchospasm, where the airways tend to collapse and the cough opens them again. Having a pulse ox decreased to 93% would be common with this. COVID/viral pneumonia can trigger this and then the bronchospasm can continue. A bronchodilator inhaler will keep your airways open, thus relieving the cough. Call your doctor and the inhaler can be prescribed. Good luck!

If you have no fever or difficulty breathing the noise you hear is loose secretions freed up by mucinex (guaifenesin). Deep breaths and cough every 15-30 minutes. Mucinex (Guaifenesin) alone does not suppress cough, it is an expectorant (make the phlegm loose). Yes, you can take that if cough does not bother you much. If you want, you can buy Robitussin DM which has the same effects as Mucinex DM. Besides medications, you need to do deep breathing and cough to fight against the atelectasis ( take a deep breath, hold for a second or two then cough out).

Often medications are held from midnight on of the day of procedure. Anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents may need to be held days before.  Mucinex should be fine to take up to surgery date.
