dental fillings or braces can induce artifacts that may spoil the image quality in structures just close to them. It is very local so if the reason of doing mr is not related to structures within a quarter of an inch, that is not a problem.

Individual case : Endorectal filling is a specialized diagnostic option to be used in conjunction with MRI or sonogram to locate hidden endometriosis or to outline to location of endometriosis. I have never employed this technique in patient care. If you are seeing a doctor who specializes in this diagnostic tool you can ask them to share from their experience regarding the value and efficacy.

ortho onc ordered xr femur based on proximal femur tumor found on mri pelvis. lytic lesion w/ill defined margins 2.3x7.7cm filling most of medullary cavity, no periosteal reaction, cortex intact. rad cant id type. whats the chance of malignancy?

: If the radiologist couldn't make his (her) impression based on the MRI of the pelvis and plain X-ray of the femur, no way can we offer of any help, especially we do not know your medical history. Please patiently wait for the follow up appt with your orthopedic oncologist. Good luck.

i have to get an mri of my arm, can i get it if i have a silver crown & a couple silver fillings in my mouth?

MRI: No problem. First, your arm and the locations of your fillings are nowhere near each other. Second, silver is a non-magnetic metal, having no affect on the imaging.

i just got mri results of my brain as i have headaches past 2 months. my headaches have turned into just pressure in my head. the results state filling defect seen at junction of right transverse and sigmoid sinus, may be ar vs blood loss. what i do?

Depends on tooth : The more you drill and fill, the less tooth structure you have left. Then fillings wont hold well, margins will be ill fitting and more recurrent cavities will happen, and possibly gingivitis or bone loss due to trapping food between teeth. Then you would consider a laboratory fabricated tooth crown to properly restore tooth structure, contacts and tooth anatomy and function.
