Mobic (meloxicam): Mobic (meloxicam) is theoretically safer than Motrin for the stomach. Both carry warnings for cardiac disease. In the absence of kidney or heart disease both are safe to use in moderation.

Do not take them: Together! They work the same way. But meloxicam works for 24 hrs. So if stopping it, wait 24hrs!

Plan: Good!!! May be try Aleve. / Naproxen 250 mg for night. Max dose 500 mg. with meal!!!

No and yes: Motrin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, similar to mobic (meloxicam). Two nsaisds should not be taken at the same time it can only increase the side effect potential
tyelnol, a pure analgesic may be used in combination with either Mobic (meloxicam) or motrin.

motrin and mobic (meloxicam) cause edema in ankles and legs. do i need to avoid taking them or is it ok as long as it doesn't bother me too much?

Side effects of meds: Sometimes certain drugs can cause side effects that are uncomfortable.  Motrin and Mobic (meloxicam) both can cause pedal edema, but if you are having pain and the edema is manageable, you can take them.  However, if the edema becomes painful itself and it hurts to walk, then stop the meds.  If there are signs of an allergy, such as hives, then stop the medication. Consult with your physician and pharmacist.

Depends : Meloxicam 15 mg once daily is equivalent to Motrin 800 three times/day. These are anti-inflammatories and often better for tendinitis. They should not be taken together. However, these meds often cause more gastrointestinal problems and are not as safe for those with cardiovascular disease. Tylenol is a safe pain reliever for most but does not treat inflammation. 1000 mg up to 3 times/day.

i have been prescribed mobic 7.5 mg x 2 daily.  i am awaiting test results due to muscular atrophy .  can i take motrin 800 or tylenol (acetaminophen) also?

Tylenol, (acetaminophen) yes.: You should not take Motrin and Mobic at the same time as this could increase your risk of getting an ulcer or bleeding.  Tylenol (acetaminophen) would be safer to take.

Anti-inflamatory: Both medications are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nsaids) . They both will help with inflammation, pain, headaches, etc. However, since they both work with similar mechanisms, taking them together is not recommended unless under oversight by a physician. With increased NSAID use, you can have many side effects, including stomach irritation, ulcer, and bleeding issues. Hope this helps!
