Biopsy good idea: Just because there is concern for Adenomyosis and the endometrium is 3 mm's, Endometrial or Tubal CA can easily cause post menopausal bleeding. The endometrial biopsy will tell the MD and you what NOT to consider as to the cause of the bleeding which is far more important right now then what IS causing the bleeding.

Uterus: By the measurements your uterus is certainly enlarged. One cause is fibroid tumors. These are easily seen on ultrasound and would have been mentioned on your report. The combination of the pain and the enlargement suggests that you might have adenomyosis, a non-cancerous condition. An MRI might be helpful in diagnosing this.

: The information you have shared so far does not mean cancer however the D&amp;C with hysteroscopy is diagnostic to find out if there is cancer. It looks like you may have fibroid which is very common by this age and you may be having the bleeding because of the fibroid but it is best to be certain there is no cancer.

Anteversion just : Means tilt (normal) and the size of the uterus is normal. Heterogeneity is a nonspecific term that means not all of the uterus looks the same. The report should indicate what (if any) significance there is to this finding. Uterine heterogeneity can be seen with uterine fibroids and adenomyosis (both of which can be associated with pelvic pain and other symptoms).

Probable fibroids: This probably means that you have small fibroids. These are the most common tumors of the female reproductive tract and almost never are or become cancerous. You only worry about them when they cause symptoms. Adenomyosis (internal endometriosis) can cause heterogenaity but does not usually show up on ultrasound.

: The term "mildly enlarged" have have been true for both ultrasounds, just a comment by one observer which could have been only marginal to the other.  At age "46" there is more estrogen produced secondary to aging eggs, which stimulates pituitary hormones to force ovulation, resulting in what was observed by the ultrasound.

: The U/S report of a mass that large requires a CT or MRI to determine if the mass is vascular or potentially malignant. Vascular abnormalities do not always require surgical solutions. See your physician for further testing.
