Likely the reverse: Although the mechanism of migraine is not fully understood, we do know that the dorsal nucleus of the trigeminal nerve does play a role in the process, and we do find symptoms over the face and neck which seem in the distribution of the trigeminal nerve sensory branches.  However, trigeminal neuralgia is not related whatsoever.

See a specialist: for evaluation and proper diagnosis and treatment. For example, it has been estimated that approximately 70% of migraine headaches overlie the sinuses and are triggered by changes in barometric pressure. These patients actually suffer from migraine but usually are diagnosed with sinus headache and use over-the counter vasoconstrictor agents for relief.

: Nerve block for status migrainosus is safe during pregancy but the effectiveness is uncertain due to limited study.

Yes: Pulsating pain in temples is typical and can be unilateral or bilateral.  Face and hand numbness is common and can be unilateral or bilateral.  Often there is nausea and irritation by light and sound.  Aspirin and sleep are best treatment.

does going to a chiropractor helps my migraine? i'm going to a chiropractor right now and it's been 3 weeks. my migraine has helped a lot but i want to know is it true that chiropractor can adjust your nerve & restore oxygen in your body again?

Chiropractic : Chiropractic is a method of manipulating the muscles of the body allegedly to adjust nerves. There is no evidence that chiropractic manipulation increases oxygen to the brain. High velocity manipulation (snapping of the neck) actually has been reported to cause strokes by damaging blood vessels in the neck. Low speed manipulation is safer and mainly consists of stretching movements of the neck. This would help with migraine headaches which cause the muscles of the neck and shoulders to tighten up. Acupressure massage would give you similar relief. You don't mention whether you have seen a neurologist or have been given medication by your primary care doctor. There are effective drugs available to treat or prevent migraine. If you haven't done so, you would benefit from discussing your headaches with your doctor and looking into possible triggers and determining whether you have true migraines as opposed to bad headaches of another cause.

tried amytiptline , cgrps , proprananol topamax and candersatan for severe constant migraine . amyriptline took edge off but side effects too bad and eventually didnt work . also tried botox and nerve blocks . any others with tolerable side effects?

: There are numerous prescription and OTC drugs that can successfully treat migraine preventatively and acutely.  It is far from unusual to experience the need to try several different medications until one works well and is tolerated.  Find a second opinion neurologist with extensive headache experience.

Optic nerve: This calls for collaboration among your physician, an ophthalmologist with experience operating on optic nerve masses, a neurosurgeon and the radiologist who interpreted the mri to determine whether more testing would be helpful. This collaboration among specialists gives you the best judgment and the best treatment options.

Occipital Neuralgia: involves the greater and lesser occipital nerves located in the back of the scalp and can produce neck pain as well as headache. The most common symptom is suboccipital pain radiating to the back of the head and occasionally down the back of the neck. This is treatable condition. Rec. see orofacial pain or pain management specialist.
