None.: For true hypothyroidism the only medication that works is replacement thyroid hormone - levothyroxine.  This comes in several forms some of which might be considered more natural than others, but at the end of the day it is the same chemical that produces the end result.

No.: We do this all the time. If symptoms bother you Cytomel (liothyronine) may be given for up to two weeks before the exam.

Not related: Hypothyroidism is a different disease than PCOS. They are not related so taking your thyroid medication is not going to impact your PCOS. PCOS does not only occur in obese patients. Many thin patients have PCOS. An Obgyn can help you with PCOS

See your doctor: This problem can only be solved by seeing your doctor and being evaluated face-to-face.  After a thorough examination, your doctor should be able to tell you what's wrong and what to do about it.

They should improve: Those symptoms are a result of your body not having enough thyroid hormone. By taking medicine you are REPLACING that missing hormone. Once the medicine gets to a steady &amp; appropriate level for you, then your body is no longer hypothyroid (as long as you keep taking the medicine), and the symptoms improve. Keep in mind, though, that it can take weeks or even months to get to that steady state.

: If you are taking any form of biotin this may mess with thyroid tests.  Review everything such as supplements you are taking. If any contain biotin tell Drs.  Need to know why test was done. Nodule in thyroid? Tender thyroid?
