Yes: hydrocodone is metabolized into hydromorphone (but not the other way around), so if you take a Norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) it will generally show both hydrocodone and hydromorphone, as well as morphine and codeine (the final metabolites).

Yes you can overdose: Hydromorphone is about 5-7x stronger than morphine.  The 16mg hydromorphone is equal to roughly 80-115mg of morphine.  Therefore if you are not used to this dose of medication, you can definitely be at risk for overdose which would result in sedation and respiratory depression which stops your breathing.  Seek medical advice first if you have never taken a pain medication before.

Mixing drugs: No! the fda recently lowered the maximum recommended dose of Ambien (zolpidem) for females.  Maximum for males is 10mg.  Mixing meds can be a deadly combination.  You may benefit from a physician that specializes in pain management and u may be a candidate for a sleep study to get to the root of your problems.  Good luck but don't play dr.  ; mix medications without your professional's awareness; permissio.
