Is it ok to take 20mg of ambien (zolpidem) and 8mg of hydromorphone?

Mixing drugs: No! the fda recently lowered the maximum recommended dose of Ambien (zolpidem) for females. Maximum for males is 10mg. Mixing meds can be a deadly combination. You may benefit from a physician that specializes in pain management and u may be a candidate for a sleep study to get to the root of your problems. Good luck but don't play dr. ; mix medications without your professional's awareness; permissio.

No, not!: 20 mg of Ambien (zolpidem) is a very high dose, probably indicating you've become tolerant to this. 8 mg of hydromorphone is moderate. I would not recommend these be taken at the same time -- and would caution you from using 20 mg of Ambien (zolpidem) at all. Please discuss with the physician who has been prescribing these medications for you.
