Yes you can overdose: Hydromorphone is about 5-7x stronger than morphine. The 16mg hydromorphone is equal to roughly 80-115mg of morphine. Therefore if you are not used to this dose of medication, you can definitely be at risk for overdose which would result in sedation and respiratory depression which stops your breathing. Seek medical advice first if you have never taken a pain medication before.
