See a doctor: You need to confirm that the ash is indeed due to mold.   Using a steroid cream on the skin will help if the rash is due to eczema, but this could disguise the real cause if it is not.

Conservative Rx: Depends upon your primary complaint and whether there was a mechanism of injury. Chondromalacia(i.e.Cartilage wear=arthritis) is common and can cause swelling and pain. Collateral ligament strains/partial tears (mcl+lcl) should be managed well conservatively. Recommend seeing a pt for motion, strengthening, edema control. Am a fan of a stationary bike as well (nonimpact knee motion+strengthening).

Fluoride on the toothpaste can also help in preventing decay due to buffering action on the saliva.  Toothbrush also should be soft bristle to prevent enamel wear.  Fluoride rinse will help.  Good oral hygiene (brushing and flossing) prevents decay of enamel.
